  My husband and I recently moved to Houston from Los Angeles and our shipment of furniture was scheduled to be delivered a week after we arrived. We scheduled a mattress delivery for the morning after our arrival with a large national company (starts with an S and ends with the things you wear on your head at Disney World). This company sent and email and text to confirm the delivery date and time to which we replied to confirm on our end to. There was a 2-hour delivery window and 10 minutes before the end of this delivery window we began to get a feeling that something was up. My husband called their customer service line and he was informed that the mattress we ordered had been back ordered for to weeks! No one called to tell us this and we wasted all afternoon sitting around waiting for this mattress to be delivered when we could have gone to find a mattress somewhere else. We had NOTHING to sleep on that night, so we went to Mattress firm at 7:55 pm (they close at 8:00 pm) and Allie was so kind and understanding! We explained to her what had happened and that we were looking for something that we could take home tonight. We needed to have a king size, firm mattress and all that we had to take it home in was our Toyota Corolla. Oh yeah, and because we hadn’t been refunded for our other mattress yet, we did not have any cash to spend. Allie got right to work! She called her supervisor, Chris, at another store who had a mattress on hand that was perfect for us! Chris said that we would stay open so that we could come and pick up the mattress and that he would help us tie the mattress to our Corolla! Allie was able to run our credit and get us approved for credit to purchase the mattress on the spot! At this point is was already 8:15 pm. Any other place would have turned us away 5 minutes before closing but Allie jumped into action to help us! We got to the store where Chris was waiting for us with our mattress around 8:30 pm. Not only did he wait 30 minutes after closing, he lifted our heavy mattress and tied it down to our tiny car. Allie and Chris really went above and beyond for us that night! We were so impressed by their customer service and willingness to help that we went back the next day and purchased an adjustable base for our new mattress! The quality of the mattress has been great, and we are so happy with the purchase that we made! It was a stressful situation, but it ended up working out and now we have a funny store for us to tell our friends.
