  I have been living at The Rice for about half a year. The unit I live in is very nice and recently renovated. The hot water in the unit is awful. It goes out after 5 minutes of use. At several points throughout the day, the entire hallway smells like trash. This is unacceptable. A couple of weeks ago I was studying in the club room with my girlfriend. A man, who clearly did not live in the building, walked right into the club room since the FOB scanner was not working AGAIN!!! The man was clearly scoping out the club room to commit a future crime. It couldn't have been more obvious. I complained to the concierge and asked them why they let him get into the building in the first place. They had no legitimate reason. The elevators are old and need to be replaced. They are always breaking. I pray to God I won't get stuck in them one of these days! Other than these couple of issues I have had, the building is great, the lobby is extremely nice and you can definitely see the history. There are a lot of weddings and other events on the weekends, and I can completely see why.
